The museum is focused on the area's cultural history, and also includes a library and archives of local historical documents and genealogical materials. The site was formerly the Alexander Family Farm and includes the barn which is the main museum building, an 1880s blacksmith shop and an 1830s log house. Permanent exhibits include period Main Street and business displays, including a historic general store, local history and notable figures, the history of the farm, and a display of Victorian-era carriages, cutters and sleighs.
